The course teaches students the methodology, discipline, and practices of an Afro Flow Yoga® class. Done in four modules (approx. 60 contact hours), it is a hybrid course that combines online meetings and a series of in-person intensives. Beginning with Module 1, students will learn the foundations of Afro Flow Yoga®. In Modules 2 & 3, students will learn and practice the sequencing of an Afro Flow Yoga® class. The final module, Module 4, will teach students the formula to create and instruct an Afro Flow Yoga® class and conduct ethical business practices. Upon successful completion of the four modules, students who meet the prerequisites* may apply to become an Afro Flow Yoga® certified teacher.

Program Overview: Week long Intensive combining Modules 2 & 3

Prerequisites: Module 1
• Enjoy the full experience of Afro Flow Yoga® healing circles
• Afro Flow Yoga® Modules 2 & 3 – Dance Movements, Sequencing, Flow & Rhythms
• Learn and unpack the structure of an AFY class with the focus on segments 1 – 7
• Learn the language, ingredients, and threads specific to Afro Flow Yoga®
• Learn to integrate vinyasa flow sequencing, alignment, and the elements of nature
• Integrate the chakras, pranayama, meditation, and energy clearing
• Explore dance, rhythm, and musicality through connection to nature
• Embody the stories and dance movements of the African Diaspora
• Learn to create the sacred circle, community building and a non-judgmental
environment
• Enjoy peer-to-peer learning and practice teaching
• Take time for journaling, self-care, and reflection
