Embodied Anatomy and Yoga
With Kate Hagerman
December 2 - 4, 2016
Sthira-Sukham Asanam
Steadiness and Ease is the practice of yoga.
-Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 2.46
To be truly transformative, the yoga practice must be taken beyond a formulaic external approach and into the subtleties of the body systems, cells and awareness. Static poses become dynamic patterns of movement.
In this healing retreat, we will deepen our sense of Sthira, (steadiness), and Sukha (ease) in the body-mind through an exploration of the transformative aspects of yoga asanas (postures).
Surrounded by thousands of acres of forest preserve at the magical Menla Mountain Center for Health and Happiness we will withdraw from the overstimulation of our daily lives and turn our attention inward so that we can align the body, calm the heart and quiet the mind.
All levels of physical ability are welcome.
