Transforming Trauma: Healing Our Deepest Wounds
With Dr. Laurane McGlynn, Geoff Fitzpatrick and Sarah Hirigoyen
October 19 - 22, 2025
A Holotropic Breathwork Workshop
It is hard to imagine the scope of an individual life without envisioning some kind of trauma, and it is hard for most people to know what to do about it -Mark Epstein
MOST OF US HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME FORM OF TRAUMA IN OUR LIFETIME…
Surviving a pandemic, diagnosis and treatment of a medical illness, loss, abuse, addiction, violence, grief, social isolation, mental health challenges…. Trauma has the power to transform. However, it is some of the most difficult work a person can ever do. Trauma can impact your body, your mind and your spirit.
Holotropic Breathwork is a journey of moving toward wholeness. In this workshop, we create a safe and supportive setting, with highly trained and experienced Holotropic Breathwork certified facilitators, where you can begin to reconnect, heal and regain connection to your body, yourself and life.
The New York Times described Holotropic Breathwork as an effective way to heal yourself and improve mood. The therapeutic benefits of Holotropic Breathwork can include releasing and healing trauma, improving anxiety and depression, higher insights of spiritual understanding, increased connection to self and others, and opening to compassion and love.
Holotropic Breathwork™ is a powerful experiential breathing process that allows for self- exploration and healing. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and the music in the room to enter an expanded state of consciousness. This state activates the natural inner healing potential of the breather, or “inner healer”, which guides the experience.
In this workshop you will experience:
- Four Holotropic Breathwork sessions (two as a breather/two as a sitter)
- Introductory talk on Holotropic Breathwork.
- Engaging with Nature – Forest Bathing Practice and Foraging in Nature
- Healing Sound Journey
- Creative Expression through Art (Mask Making and Mandala Drawing)
- Evening Fire Ritual and Healing Ceremony
- Loving-Kindness Meditation
- Journaling for Reflection and Release/ Integrative Writing Practice
- Group Support and Connection
This workshop is open to new breathers, experienced breathers, those in the GTT Holotropic facilitator training, Grof Legacy Training or anyone interested in experiencing Holotropic Breathwork. For those who are in a psychedelic-assisted therapy training program or MAPS training, this workshop may fulfill your requirement for practical experience sitting for others in expanded states of consciousness.
This workshop is approved by Grof Transpersonal Training to meet the requirements for an in person double breathwork session for completion of the virtual modules. This workshop is approved by Grof Legacy training to meet the breathwork requirements of the training program.
