Many of us go through life with defenses around our heart that we’re not aware of. We have spent a lifetime protecting ourselves from reality especially if we think it will hurt us. We don’t want to relive past harms or we want to prevent the possibility of future pain.

We live a defended life and unless we take the time to look at our defenses, we will continue to be trapped by our habitual patterns of thinking and acting. When we try to protect ourselves from the suffering, it just intensifies what we’re hiding from.

Living with an undefended heart is an invitation to open to whatever life presents us and is an opportunity to develop an intimacy with our deepest experience and let go into freedom. The teachings of the Buddha offer a path where we can learn to sit with ourselves and welcome our deepest fears while also melting the armor we have built up over the years.

In this workshop you will learn how you defend your heart and begin to dissolve the defenses that get in the way of authenticity and connection with others. There will be talks, guided meditation, conversation, and exercises.

“If you let go a little you a will have a little peace; if you let go a lot you will have a lot of peace;
if you let go completely you will have complete peace. ” –
Ajahn Chah
