Bodhicitta Retreat with Ven. Tenzin Chogkyi (Shantideva Meditation Center)

    An amazing opportunity to experience the happiness of a calm mind and strengthen our spiritual practice under the joyful and wise guidance of Ven. Thubten Chogkyi in the serene environment of Menla Mountain Retreat Center.

    To develop a calm and focused mind, we will do several sessions of concentration meditation (shiné) and practice mindfulness in silence during the breaks. We will also engage in analytical meditations to develop insight. The general focus of the retreat will be to develop our good heart through meditations on equanimity, love, compassion, and Bodhicitta along with powerful techniques to keep bodhicitta in mind between the meditation sessions and in our daily lives.

    This retreat is open to relatively new Buddhists and to more experienced practitioners. One should be familiar with basic Buddhist concepts and already have some experience with meditation.

    Dates and Times:
    Friday, October 21

    Registration is from 3 to 6pm, followed by dinner and an evening session.

    Saturday, October 22

    There will be sessions of teaching, meditation, and discussion from morning to early evening, in addition to meals and breaks.

    Sunday, October 23
    There will be sessions of teaching (with Q&A) and meditation. The retreat will conclude after lunch.
