The 5 Wisdom Energies Retreat: Transforming Confusion Into Wisdom
With David Nichtern
August 21 - 23, 2020
A Special Weekend Retreat for Graduates of all David Nichtern T.T. Programs Worldwide
The 5 Wisdom Energies (5 Buddha Families) is a special teaching from the Buddhist Tantric tradition as presented by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche shortly after his arrival in the US in 1970. Traditionally presented as a mandala of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas – each of the Buddhas embodies one of the five different aspects of enlightened mind. These intrinsic qualities can manifest as clarity and wisdom, but also as neurotic and distorted states of mind.
This teaching offers some of the most comprehensive and magical descriptions of the world we live in – describing seasons, landscapes, culture, colors, food, situational logic – all the colorful details regarding how we experience our world and express ourselves in it. The premise is that liberation and confusion are two sides of the same coin. With awareness and practice, we can embrace our situation as it is and transform confusion into wisdom and skillful means.
