A Restorative Retreat with Shiatsu, Makko Ho, and the Five Elements
Step away from the demands of daily life and return to the wisdom of your body. Guided by Shiatsu Grandmaster Kumiko Kanayama, this restorative retreat invites you to experience Shiatsu, Makko Ho stretching, meditation, and the healing principles of the Five Elements. Through gentle movement, mindful touch, breath, and quiet reflection, you will learn to listen more deeply to your body and reconnect with your natural vitality.
Rooted in traditional Japanese healing philosophy, the program explores how Ki—life energy—flows through the meridians and supports our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Participants will practice accessible self-care techniques, partner Shiatsu, and Makko Ho exercises designed to release tension, improve flexibility, calm the nervous system, and restore balance. Kumiko’s Intuitive Shiatsu™ approach encourages us to move beyond technique and cultivate presence, sensitivity, and trust in the wisdom of our hands.
Surrounded by Menla’s peaceful natural environment, you will have time to slow down, receive support, and reconnect with yourself and others. This retreat is open to beginners, experienced practitioners, bodyworkers, caregivers, and anyone seeking renewal. No previous Shiatsu experience is necessary—only curiosity and a willingness to listen, move, breathe, and receive.
