Eve Holbrook

Initially drawn to yoga in 1994 for relief from chronic back pain following a childhood horseback riding injury, Eve has grown to view yoga as an exploration of the nature of life and what it is to be a human being. She strives to communicate the possibility of being effortful without aggression, of embodying the depth our ourselves without strain.

Eve has been teaching Iyengar Yoga since 2006, and is certified at the Intermediate 2 level. She is on the faculty of the Iyengar Institute of New York, a member of IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), and co-owner of Samamkaya Yoga Back Care & Scoliosis Collective, a studio dedicated to yoga for back care and scoliosis.

Eve has made multiple extended trips to Pune, India to study with the Iyengars, developing her practice and assisting in the medical classes there. She studied for many years with Mary Dunn, Kevin Gardiner, James Murphy and Lara Warren, and continues her studies with Patricia Walden and Lucienne Vidah.
