Alisyn Camerota

Alisyn Camerota is a longtime journalist, podcast host and author. In her three-plus decades in journalism, Alisyn has covered major stories nationally and internationally, earning two Emmy Awards, the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award and a DuPont-Columbia Award. Alisyn became well known as the longest-serving anchor of CNN’s signature morning show, New Day. In that role, Alisyn was at the forefront of the day’s biggest news events. Her conversations with student survivors in the hours after the Parkland school massacre, as well as her interview with a combative NRA spokeswoman, became integral parts of the national conversation on gun safety.

During the 2016 and 2020 president elections, Alisyn’s Voter Panels were must-see viral moments. Alisyn also hosted a dozen primetime specials on subjects such as fraternity hazing and sexual assault. Alisyn left CNN at the end of 2024 very grateful for the hundreds of fascinating conversations she had with world leaders and cultural icons, everyone from Donald Trump to the band KISS.

Alisyn’s debut novel, Amanda Wakes Up, was selected by National Public Radio as one of the best books of 2017, and by Oprah Magazine as “a must read.” Her new memoir Combat Love instantly became an Amazon bestseller. It’s described by bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand as “unputdownable!”

Alisyn is now the host of a video podcast she launched on YouTube called “Sanity,” designed to fight the madness of our crazy-making times. She is also a bestseller on Substack where she writes about the process of trying to reinvent her life after leaving legacy media and the death of her beloved husband Tim.

Alisyn attended American University on a Presidential scholarship, graduating cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
