HaChi Yu

HaChi Yu, an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga® teacher, is the visionary behind Jivamukti Yoga Collective – New York, where she serves as founder and director. She also founded Prana Productions LLC/The Prana Life and previously opened Jivamukti Yoga Los Angeles, the first Jivamukti Yoga School on the west coast, which closed in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

Born and raised on the Lower East Side of NYC, HaChi’s lifelong journey in movement began in childhood. For over two decades, she was a principal dancer with Feld Ballet/Ballet Tech, also performing on and off-Broadway. Her extensive yoga studies span various schools, including Sivananda, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Tripsichore, with esteemed teachers such as HH Dalai Lama, HH Radhanath Swami, Robert Moses, Eddie Stern, and Rusty Wells.

HaChi facilitates Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Trainings internationally.  She is a 500hr EYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher, also holding certifications in Gyrotonic™ and Pilates. Over the last 25 years, her career as a dancer and teacher has taken her around the world, where she has taught master classes at universities and festivals and performed on global stages with renowned artists.

HaChi is a humble and dedicated lifelong student, expressing eternal gratitude to her beloved teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life founders of Jivamukti Yoga. She is committed to serving her teachers and lineage through these practices, which guide her on the Boddhisattva path, embracing the dance of the whirling dervishes.

HaChi’s classes integrate ancient wisdom teachings into modern life with joy and reverence, emphasizing strength, intelligence, and fluidity through various yoga practices.
