Jordão Souza
Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1993, Jordão Souza was immersed in Amazonian spirituality from a young age as the grandson of Padrinho Sebastião Mota de Melo, a Santo Daime leader. His journey led him to the Yawanawá in 2009, where he studied their medicinal plant knowledge and spirituality, becoming the final apprentice of Pajé Tata. Committed to preserving indigenous wisdom, he co-founded Guananshe Sanctuary in Bahia, bridging Amazonian healing traditions with global research. He also supports key Yawanawá initiatives, such as the Nipei: Garden of Medicines and Food Sovereignty Project, ensuring the continuation of ancestral knowledge. A gifted musician and artist, Jordão lives with his wife, Kenewma Yawanawá, and their children, Mukaihu and Mukavimi, carrying forward the teachings that have profoundly shaped his path.
