Matt Dreyfus CIYT

Matt Dreyfus has been dedicated to the exploration of body, breath and mind through the practice of Yoga for many years. In 1994, While studying at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, he was introduced to Iyengar Yoga and took up a dedicated practice. He began teaching while working as a musician,  and, experiencing the transformative effects of practice, he left the field of music and began teaching Yoga full time in 2003. 

Matt is a core faculty member of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York, where he is also a member of the teacher training faculty. He made his first visit to the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India, in 1999, and continues to return there to study regularly. Matt has also been a practitioner of Zen Buddhism for many years.

Matt aims to share Yoga with clarity, depth, and a spirit of friendliness, and brings warmth and humor to this profound subject.

Matt lives in Hoboken, New Jersey with his wife and fellow Iyengar Yoga teacher Michelle LaRue, and their daughter.
