Oskar Elmgart
Oskar Elmgart Co-Founder, Treebath, Inc. Certified Forest Therapists
As an experienced early childhood educator, Swedish-born Oskar Elmgart leads Treebath’s children’s programs. Oskar created Treebath’s sustainability curriculum, loosely based on a successful 60-year old Swedish after-school program he attended as a child. Oskar applied his aptitude for a student-directed teaching style to develop a program that encourages hands-on learning and a life-long respect for our natural environment. Oskar is committed to instilling both empathy and structure in the lives of his own children as well as those he teaches.
With a Master’s of Science and time in the Swedish Royal Marines, Oskar is accustomed to spending time outside regardless of weather. He strives to instill in both children and adults the joy of nature that humans so naturally crave
Oskar works with schools, school districts, and local government to provide customized outdoor programming that combats the growing number of health concerns in children attributed to a lack of green time, such as poor concentration, lack of focus, childhood obesity, ADHD, and decreased vision development. Oskar aims to ensure all of today’s children are afforded the proven health and wellness benefits of “green time”.
Oskar has been interviewed and featured in a variety of publications including National Wildlife Magazine, CNBC, and Swedish NPR. Oskar is co-author of the forthcoming children’s book “A Bath Without bubbles: Rowan & Jake’s First Treebath.”
