The Practice
Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) is an open and integrated system of yoga practices
that allows the natural unfolding of lasting inner peace, ecstatic radiance, and outpouring love. The practice includes deep meditation using an efficient universal mantra, advanced spinal breathing pranayama, samyama, self-inquiry, and an integration of hatha, kundalini, and tantra techniques, cultivating enlightenment in daily living.

The retreat is open to any level of experience, from the beginners to the advanced practitioners. Tristan and Blanche will lead daily practical sessions for learning and/or fine tuning the main AYP practices, as well as lively discussions exploring the experiential and philosophical dimensions. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of background or level of skill.

Food
The yoga practice will be supported by two delicious gourmet vegetarian meals every day (lunch and dinner). The meals are based on local organic vegetables and fruit. Fruit and hot drinks will be available all day. Special diets (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, etc.) can be accommodated, if we let the cook know at least a week in advance.

Other things
Retreat participants will have access to Menla’s lovely pool. There are many trails in the beautiful pristine forest and up the ancient Panther Mountain surrounding the center. Pantherkill Brook runs on Menla’s grounds, and a clear still lake offers places for rest and reflection.
An easy drive from New York City, Menla is located in the picturesque town of Phoenicia, NY, and just 20 minutes away from the most famous small town in America, Woodstock, known for its deep-rooted culture of music, art galleries, and great restaurants.
