Examine with Love: Shifting Internal Narratives
With Lydia Boaz
September 25 - 28, 2025
We all have those familiar patterns we notice ourselves falling back into, some of which we’d like so badly to shift. Under each of those patterns are beliefs we hold about ourselves, other people, and the world. Our internal beliefs, whether we are aware of them or not, are what guide us in every choice we make and dictate how we interpret our world and the people around us. What do we believe is possible for us? What do we deserve? Our internal narratives also influence how much joy we experience in any given situation and how much we allow ourselves to rest. Do we believe we deserve joy? Do we believe we are only valuable while working?
First, it’s hard to even hear what our underlying beliefs are. Then, what happens when we can articulate a belief and see how it’s affecting our lives but can’t seem to shift it? Perhaps you’ve tried to change but the same behavior patterns keep resurfacing.
In this retreat you will identify one belief – “I don’t deserve the love I want,” “It’s not safe to shine,” “People will hurt me if I get close,” “I don’t belong,” are some examples – and we will gently examine this belief. Where did it come from? How was it formed? What’s it trying to do for you? How does it feel in your body? We will loosen its grip with compassion—not force. You will be guided to notice how the belief lives in your body and later make space for that belief to be adjusted or transformed. You will be supported in creating, or listening for, an alternative form of the belief that allows for liberation, flow and expansion. By the end of the retreat, you’ll have an antidote to the original belief you started with—something emotionally and somatically resonant, uniquely tailored to you. It might be a sentence, a sensation, or an image—something you can reach for when that old belief resurfaces in the future. Finally, we will make room for the body to recalibrate to the new belief.
If this is calling to you, you are welcome to contact Lydia directly with any further questions about the retreat or her work.
