PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
REJUVENATION RETREAT PRACTICES & TEACHINGS
Chulen Rejuvenation – These rejuvenation practices of ‘extracting the essence’ are used for anti-aging, detoxifying and enlivening the body. Originating from the Healing and Dharma traditions, these practices include a variety of visualization, mantra and breathing practices. The retreat is based on partial fasting, replacing gross food with the luminosity absorbed through practices and supported by Tibetan tonic herbs. Throughout the retreat, Dr Nida will guide how to rejuvenate the body according to the Tibetan Medical and Spiritual systems, and how to modify the practices to fit the needs of your unique body constitution.
Teachings with Dr Nida & Robert Thurman – Wisdom offerings on the Buddha’s Science of Healing and Inner Science of Awakening.
Yuthok Nyingthig Empowerment – Teachings and transmission on the spiritual practices of Tibetan Medicine
Yuthok Ngondro Teachings – How to enter and progress on the path, according to the teachings of Yuthok, founder of Tibetan Medicine
Yuthok’s Four Mahamudra Yogas – Transmission and training on the stages of silent meditation. Essential instructions on how to gradually progress through stilling the mind and thoughts, developing insight through vipassana, and accessing the deep spontaneous source of being.
NeJang Yoga – Healing yoga practice from the Kalachakra tradition. Using breath, movement, and self-massage, this set of traditional exercises will be offered each morning.
TRANSFORMATION OF MEDICINE INTO NECTAR
There will also be a blessing of rejuvenation medicines, using ritual and mantra recitation.
These blessed substances can be used throughout the retreat, in conjunction with partial fasting practices. Additional herbs will be available to take home for purchase.
TIBETAN THERAPIES AT THE MAHASUKHA SPA
To compliment the rejuvenation process, the Mahasukha spa will be open daily during the session breaks to receive Tibetan medical therapies. Dr Nida and other practitioners will be available for individual consultations, guidance, and treatments. Participants can also use dry and steam saunas at the Mahasukha spa to enhance their experience.
